«Cat’s House» Museum
They were worshiped in Ancient Egypt. They were painted and sculpted, people wrote poems and songs about them, and even composed an opera!
They have been domesticated for centuries, but they still consider themselves masters of human beings.
A unique museum “Cat’s House” opened its doors in 2002. A private collection of Novovira’s Vice-president Vera Novoselova includes more than 2,000 exhibits related to these mysterious animals: portraits, paintings, cats made of stone, wood, silver, clay, crystal and porcelain from around the world.
The museum building occupies three floors which have been decorated by the famous Ukrainian artist in the genre of comics. The museum is very popular with tourists in Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava) and is advertised in catalogs of well-known travel agencies in France, Germany, England and Spain. It is also recommended to visit by Tourism of Catalonia and the Town Hall of Lloret de Mar.
Once a year the museum “Cat’s House” in co-operation with the Town Hall of Lloret de Mar hosts the International Festival of Arts “Catalonia - the country of the Moon cat”.
If you are in low spirits, if the weather doesn’t lure you to the beach or if you want to know a little more about the wonderful world of cats, come to “Cat’s House”. We assure you that you will not be able to keep from smiling after your visit and you will come back to us again. Tours are conducted in Russian.
